In-progress project

Creating renewable energy

Installation of air conditioning with sustainable energy through solar panels for 12 classrooms at Juntos Podemos Academy

Direct beneficiaries: 238 children and youth from vulnerable populations in Curundu.

Indirect beneficiaries: Mas de 238 familias en el barrio Curundú a los cuales los programas de la organización Juntos Podemos impactan.

Why is it so important

Our challenge

75% of our students are children between the ages of 4 and 15 who attend the academy to access bilingual education. In a tropical climate like Panama with 92% humidity, students and teachers attend 4-6 hours of classes under high temperatures, making the learning dynamics more challenging. As for now, the available resources have not been sufficient to equip the classrooms with air conditioning, cover the associated electricity costs, and upgrade the building's electrical system to increase its capacity.

To address this need, we propose: The installation of solar panels that provide the electrical and energy requirements for the air conditioning in the classrooms without increasing the monthly electricity costs.

Other services

Community Porgrams

Community Center

The Community Center serves as a leader in the wellness of the community, with programs that benefit vulnerable children, youth, and families. Community centers provide their neighbors with a social place to stay active, engaged, and safe.

Legal Assistance

This involves creating legal awareness through the dissemination of legal literacy. Guiding beneficiaries with the necessary steps for social action litigation regarding any matter of special interest to the disadvantaged members of society.

Counseling

Working with a counselor can make a significant difference for individuals, whether they have experienced a serious crisis or simply feel overwhelmed during a period of their life. However, many people cannot afford these services. For those who are not comfortable talking on the phone, they can send a text message and communicate digitally with a volunteer.
PROFESSIONAL COUNSELOR: The task is always to assist these young people or adults in the community during the transition period, encourage them, and provide professional guidance.

Testimonials
The experience I have had at Juntos Podemos has been profoundly inspiring. Witnessing so many people open their hearts in such a vulnerable community, where love becomes tangible, is truly moving. Both the children and the youth show an admirable determination to move forward, supported by teachers whose genuine desire to walk alongside them is evident every day. Despite the challenging circumstances they face, I trust that divine grace will fill us with the strength and purpose needed to perfect the noble work that began in Curundú.

"Since Juntos Podemos began in 2008, I have been involved, along with Word of Life. Although it is sometimes a challenge, it is beautiful to see how children and young people can change their lives through better education, opportunities, and above all, through a personal relationship with Christ. I love taking them to the Word of Life camp in Chame."'

“For me, being a volunteer at Juntos Podemos is an experience full of blessings and challenges. I have been able to meet women with such a deep need to know God and who, despite their difficulties, keep moving forward. I know that our Father is working in their lives and in their generations. I can only have a grateful heart to God for allowing me to serve as a volunteer. I am thankful to the director, the administrative staff, the kitchen staff, and the teaching staff, because I am the one most blessed, as I learn from them.”
